Zsofia Szabo (better known as Sophie Evans) was born February 23rd 1977 in Hungary. She studied psychology at the University of Budapest and soon began to work as a lingerie model. After spending time in Greece, she traveled to Windsor (Canada) where she continued to work as a stripper. But she didn’t like the work, and felt exploited, so she decided to move to Barcelona. Performing at the Erotic Film Festival she impressed director José Maria Ponce and the owner of the Bagdad nightclub – as well as the crowds. Her first work on film was as “Leslie” or “Gina,” until she decided on the stage name that she has made so famous internationally. While filming with Luca Damiano, she met her future husband, Toni Ribas, from whom she separated mid-2005. Together they created “Hot Frames,” a production company that filmed their movies for sale on the American market.

It is no exaggeration to say that Sophie has worked with the crème de la crème of the adult film business in the nineties. She has even worked with respected Spanish movie director Luis García Berlanga on the film “Paris - Timbuktu.”

She was chosen as Private’s girl of the year, and nominated for the Hot D’Or for best supporting actress in 2000. A year later, she picked up the same nomination, again falling short of the prize, but the Ninfa in Barcelona for Best International Artist was ample consolation. In 2003, she won the audience-awarded Ninfa for Best Actress. In 2003 and 2004 she was nominated for Best Spanish Actress at the BIEFF – a string of awards and nominations that prove her star quality.
