Claudia Claire:
She’s young, she’s beautiful, and she knows exactly what she wants. She lives with her boyfriend, porn actor Robby Blake, and when she has time, she loves to take her dogs for a run on the beach.
What gave you the idea of working in the porn industry?
Claudia Claire: Before that I was working as a stripper.

Aged..?
Claudia: Aged 20 – and it wasn’t easy for me. Remember I come from Prague where you didn’t even see women going topless it was a shock for me.

And why did you do it?
Claudia: Because I didn’t see a future working in advertising agencies I couldn’t imagine myself in an office, working every day, waiting for the holidays to come around so I could travel and enjoy myself.

That was in the Czech Republic..
Claudia: Yes, and I wanted to travel, to meet people, to learn And then some friends of mine offered me the chance of doing striptease.

Had you studied dance?
Claudia: Yes, I’d done some dance, gymnastics but it was all very serious.

And how did you make the leap from a world where everyone was so uptight to one where everyone’s naked.
Claudia: The fact is I don’t know how I did it, but I guess my curiosity got the better of me. Besides, it was a way to travel abroad. It was the first step. I knew I wouldn’t be doing it for long.

Did you have any exhibitionist tendencies?
Claudia: No, I didn’t. I was really shy And then I changed completely. Now I love to be in front of the camera. I’m a regular girl, you see how I am, nothing out of the ordinary, but when I get in front of a camera I change completely.

What do you mean “a regular girl?”
Claudia: In my private life I’m shy - when I walk down the street nobody would ever say that I work in porn. They always expect someone in a skimpy top and a miniskirt.. and that’s not my style. I dress the way I am now, in jeans and an regular blouse.

You’ve been living with Robby Blake for seven years now, right?
Claudia: That’s right. Seven years.

Are you both in favor of being faithful?
Claudia: Yes. We’re in favor of fidelity. I believe in it.

And in practice?
Claudia: Yes.

And what about Robby?
Claudia: Him too, of course. Our work as a porn actor and actress is one thing, and our private life is another. And we’re very clear about that.

How do you manage to have a full sex life together when you’re filming regularly?
Claudia:  We draw a line between our professional life and our private life. It’s true that a lot of actors and actresses do the same things in their private life that they do onscreen. With us, it’s not like that.

Can you tell us more about that?
Claudia: Well, yes, it’s like I’m part of this world and I do this job, but I know that my boyfriend and I have thought a lot about what we want. And if I went screwing around after filming, that wouldn’t be the kind of life that I want   for myself.

Did you work at Bagdad (the famous Barcelona sex club)?
Claudia: Yes.

And how was that?
Claudia: Well, we got a lot out of it. Robby and I would do our live show, and then we went home.

You never had to mix with the clients?
Claudia: No, sometimes I was expected to, but it wasn’t my job to mix with the clients. I’m an actress, not a prostitute. And there’s a difference. I’m not saying that there were prostitutes working at Bagdad, but just because I work in a porno show, doesn’t mean I’m a prostitute. Absolutely not.

And does that kind of thing happen a lot?
Claudia: Unfortunately, yes. If your work involves having sex in front of a camera with other professionals..  it’s just that a profession. Doing it for money in your private life is prostitution. The two things have nothing to do with one another.

Does working in porn complicate your life?
Claudia: When I started out I thought it was complicating things, because I lost a lot of  friends. But now I know they weren’t real friends, and now the people who count are the people who stood by me. My family and a few others.

What does your family think about your porn career?
Claudia: My family know me, and they’ve told me they know it’s a profession, and if I’m happy, so are they.

Has anyone in your family seen your films.
Claudia: No, no-one. They said they know what I do, but they don’t watch them, because it would be kind of perverted (laughs.)

What are your limits in porn? What would you never do?
Claudia: Groups, anal sex.. and when they have these parties that VIPs come to, and you have to be nice to them well, I just don’t turn up.

What won’t you do on set?
Claudia: No groups, no threesomes, no anal..

And does that limit you a lot?
Claudia: It does limit me, but if I have to work in this world, I prefer to work the way I want. I do what I like. If someone’s suggests something that’s not OK for me, and it’s only for money well, it’s not OK.

What do you get most pleasure out of in porno scenes?
Claudia: I love oral sex.

Giving or receiving?
Claudia: It’s better to receive (laughs)

What’s your specialty?
Claudia: My specialty is oral sex.

Are there times when a particular actor completely turns you off?
Claudia: Well, I have had to work with actors that I don’t particularly like, and, usually, they’re the beginners. But I take it professionally. It’s my job. And I get on with it.

Is there ever hostility between actors?
Claudia: Well, in general.. no. But sometimes a director will ask you to be nicer to the actor because he’s not getting hard. If I don’t like the guy.. well I can be nice up to a certain point, but it’s not easy to be generous with someone you don’t get along with.

Can you give me an example?
Claudia: Yes, for example, when you get some new actor strutting around, full of themselves acting all macho, only concerned about looking good in front of the camera, regardless of how it affects the scene Or if they say “baby, I’m going to tear you apart,” and it turns out it’s the first time they’ve done a porn scene.

What do you do then?
Claudia: I set the limits. You say, “I’m in charge here, you’re just a tool, and you’re hardly going to be on camera, so just concentrate on that tool, and don’t get smart with me"

But nicely so as not to ruin the scene..
Claudia: That’s right, you have to be nice, because, sure, I could break him right down, but if I did, the scene wouldn’t work.

Is it difficult working with new guys?
Claudia: Yes. I prefer the professionals.

Who are your favorite actors?
Claudia: My boyfriend, Robby Blake, Toni Ribas, Max Cortés

How are things when you’re with Robby Blake?
Claudia: It’s great, because we’ve done so many live sex shows that we understand each other perfectly.

And Nacho Vidal.
Claudia: No, I’ve always said that I would never work with him. Or with Rocco.

Why not?
Claudia: As people I love them, but I can’t work with them because they have these huuuuuuge tools. Rocco is an amazing person, he’s a friend and he always says, “you’re scared of me,” which isn’t true, but I like to my work to be the highest quality, and to achieve that I have to feel comfortable and at ease. And I wouldn’t feel relaxed if I was with them.

Will you ever do anal?
Claudia: I worked for a year and a half doing anal and I realized that I wasn’t working as well as I could, because I didn’t like it. That was when I decided not to do it any more. And I kept getting calls to make more films, so I guess it’s working out OK.

But it’s a limitation..
Claudia: It’s a big limitation, but for the time being things are going fine.

Do you think anal sex can be pleasurable for a woman, or do they just say that to please their men?
Claudia: For some women anal sex can be pleasurable: for me personally, it’s not. I know that saying that won’t make me popular, but it’s what I feel.

Why do you sometimes say that porn is a hobby for you?
Claudia: Because I’m a graphic designer, and I could make my living doing that, so porn is a kind of added value for me, and that means I’m freer to chose what I want to do when I’m offered a part in a film.

Do you do shows?
Claudia: Yes, and that’s what I enjoy best. I love doing live shows. You know – at stag parties or hen parties, and at festivals.

Do you work at stag parties?
Claudia: Yes, and I love it.

Isn’t that kind of work risky as we’ve seen in certain films?
Claudia: No, not if you’ve got someone with you. Nothing ever happened to me.

Have you had any unpleasant experiences in the porn industry?
Claudia: Occasionally, for example when I was running a fever while we were filming. The director got mad because I couldn’t give 100%, and Robby had to put him in his place.

Why did you turn up on set sick?
Claudia: I’d been working at Bagdad until really late, in a live sex show, and the next day I didn’t feel good, but you can’t just call in and say you’re not going to turn up, because they’ve hired the location and they’ve got the whole crew waiting 

A hard way to make living at times, right?
Claudia: Yes, sometimes it’s very hard.

What would you say to your 18-year old daughter if she wanted to be a porn actress?
Claudia: I’d tell her it’s not an easy job, that it can be psychologically damaging and that she should think about it seriously. If she still wanted to go for it, then I’d support her any way I could.

Does it make things easier for you that your boyfriend also works in adult movies?
Claudia: Sure, a lot easier, because when I have to go out to work he knows as well as I do that it’s a job. If your partner’s not part of this business it’s common for them to have problems accepting the situation.

What’s the secret of living together happily?
Claudia: Respecting one another, trust and love, of course. Because it’s not easy to be understanding, for example if I’m away filming for a week and he’s stuck at home.

Do you watch Robby’s scenes?
Claudia: No, I’ve practically never watched one of his scenes. When we’re filming together  I don’t watch his scenes, I go and have a coffee. And he does the same when it’s me who’s performing.

Do you act differently if Robby’s around?
Claudia: Maybe, I guess sometimes it’s easier if I know he’s not there. Maybe at first you feel inhibited.. but then once the camera starts rolling you forget all about it.

Is it common for actors to use Viagra?
Claudia: Yes, it’s very common.

Can you tell when someone’s taken Viagra?
Claudia: Yes, you can really tell. I notice straight away. I don’t know the actor will sweat a heck of a lot It’s hard to explain, but I can tell.

Can it affect the scene you’re filming?
Claudia: Depends on the person. There are guys who take it and if they’re not OK psychologically, it doesn’t work. Some guys can’t get hard with one, two or even three pills.

Does it make a difference whether they take it or not, so long as the scene works?
Claudia: Yes, sure, if the scene’s working, I couldn’t care less if they’ve taken it or not.

What used to happen before Viagra?
Claudia: I think that before Viagra you had real professionals.

Who’s a real professional for you?
Claudia: Ron Jeremy. He’s a true genius. I’ve met him at festivals and he’s a fantastic person.

Do you think these legendary actors can get away with not being able to perform?
Claudia: Maybe once in while, but if it happens too often then things get complicated. There are some actors who can’t cut it any more, they can’t get a full erection I won’t name names but that’s the way it is.

In your opinion, all these beautiful young girls who come over from Eastern Europe are they cold?
Claudia: Yes, people say that girls from my country are cold. And I agree.

When this wave of gorgeous chicks first from Eastern Europe first hit us, people said they weren’t really interested, because they didn’t bother to help the actors before filming started. Is that something you’re obliged to do?
Claudia: No, not at all? Until you start filming, the girl has no obligation to help the actor get hard. But when you start filming, speaking personally, I always try to help the actor.

What does that involve?
Claudia: Well, what I mean is, if there’s a break in filming and the actor has to stay hard I’ll help him, of course I will, because that’s part of  doing the job well. But before the scene starts, no, absolutely not.

Do you prefer to perform with women or with men?
Claudia: Depends on the person.

Do you enjoy lesbian sex?
Claudia: Yes, there are girls that I like a lot. It’s great to work with them. But I’m not lesbian or bisexual, only in my movies. In my private life I’m 100% heterosexual.

In general, actresses tell me they prefer filming with other girls because they’re gentler.
Claudia: Sure, it’s true that they’re gentler, more caring. But if it’s a choice of working with a new girl who’s never done a girl/ girl scene before, as against working with a professional porn actor, like Robby, Toni Ribas.. I’ll take the guy every time.

What do you think about this thing that’s gotten so in fashionable at the moment in adult movies, where the actor takes his dick out of the girl’s pussy or her ass, gives it to her to suck, and then puts it back in again.
Claudia:  I don’t do that, so I can’t really comment in detail.

What do you think about it as a practice?
Claudia:  Well, I’m sure they agree to it beforehand, obviously. And you have to bear in mind that in some films there are cuts where the actor washes or wipes himself. But I don’t like it.

What would you say to a girl who wanted to get into porn as a career?
Claudia:  First of all, that she has to like sex a lot, that she has to be an exhibitionist, and that she has to be open to trying new things.

Is there a porn mafia?
Claudia:  No. I’ve worked in Spain, in France, in Germany, in England and I’ve never seen evidence of that.

Nobody’s ever told you to do things beyond what’s strictly professional?
Claudia: No, never. Maybe it’s because I worked with the best right from the start – with Dorcel, Private, Alain Payet And they’re all so professional it’d never occur to them to mess you around.

And you’ve never heard anything different?
Claudia:  Yes, I know there are smaller companies that have taken advantage of actors or actresses that are new. I hear these stories and I’m totally nonplussed, because nothing like that ever happened to me.

Do you think people can learn from porn?
Claudia: I think people can make their erotic fantasies come true by watching erotic films, and they can also pick up things that can improve their sex life.

Do ordinary guys see porn actress as a challenge, or do they get scared?
Claudia:  I scare them, I don’t know why it is, but it’s true. I’m not easy to win over, to seduce but when someone succeeds.. I like it, sure.

What do you find sedcutive?
Claudia: Intelligence.

What’s the best thing that’s happened to you in porn?
Claudia: Meeting really interesting people. Porn has given me a lot, for instance it’s given me a lot of experience, and it’s enabled me to develop different characters.

Which mainstream actor would you like to do a sex scene with?
Claudia: Leonardo Sbaraglia.

Would you do it even if you weren’t getting paid for it?
Claudia: No. But porn’s not just about money, or liking sex, it’s also about traveling, visiting new places, meeting new people That’s all really exciting.

What would you do if someone offered you the chance to leave porn and work in mainstream cinema?
Claudia:  I’d take it, no doubt about it.

Can you define yourself as an actress?
Claudia:  I love acting, I like scripts that have a plot, scenes with humor. I enjoy them, and I’m a real perfectionist.

How do you see yourself in ten years’ time?
Claudia: Probably not involved in porn - and if I am, I won’t be acting. Maybe in production. But in the meantime, I’m studying drama and I want to be an actress.

Kids?
Claudia: Yes, I want to have a baby.

What’s your life like at the moment?
Claudia: Full of excitement, with lots of love, and lots of determination to make my dreams come true.
